“We are also running a government… We are not subordinates to the centre or beggars. State governments have more responsibilities and duties than the centre,” said Telangana KCR dismissing the Modi-led government’s 20 lakh crore-corona relief package.
Accusing that the central government has been blackmailing the state governments, the TRS Supremo came down heavily in the recent media meet in Pragathi Bhavan. Terming the Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package as a blatant fraud, KCR mocked the conditions imposed by the centre for increasing the states’ borrowing limits.
“They are holding a knife to our neck and forcing states to agree with centre’s conditions. They want us to increase municipal taxes,” said KCR refusing allocation from 2- lakh crore package.
KCR found fault with the Centre laying down conditions to raise FRBM limits for the states from 3% to 5% and stated that the states were seeking some cash in their hands so that the same can be passed on to the people in different ways. He also stated it is unfortunate that the central government is trying to portray ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ as a part of the coronavirus relief package.
Addressing the state-citizen the state CM announced the new guidelines in the wake of the central government extending the lockdown.
