With the number of infected in Telangana reaching to 21, Chief Minister KCR called for an emergency meeting with the health department officials followed by a press conference. Expressing solidarity with the Coronavirus affected people and the increasing threat from the novel virus, the CM announced that Telangana State will observe a complete shutdown for 24 hours starting 6 AM on Sunday morning.
In the line of Prime Minister Modi’s call ‘Janata Curfew’-to curb the coronavirus epidemic in Telangana, urged the public to voluntarily refrain from coming out of their homes except for emergencies. Concerned over the increasing positive cases in the neighbouring Maharastra, KCR urged the citizen to take the social responsibility in curbing the viral infection.
On this note, Chief Minister also stated that the services of the public transport including TSRTC and Hyderabad Metro Rail will be suspended for 24 hours and buses from other states will be topped at the inter-state border check posts. “Depending on the severity, we are ready to allot Rs 10 crores,” he added. Private vehicles, travel operators, autos and RTC buses of neighbouring States are requested not to enter into Telangana State.
