Tolivelugu Crime Bureau: The government has brought G.O 68 by removing the advertising hoarding boards. Hoardings placed on private property and above 15 feet in height are not allowed. Penalties have been imposed on the foot over the bridge which has been constructed with crores of rupees. Even though the shop owners have put up boards on the building, cases have been registered. There are allegations that biddings were prepared so that tenders would come only to those who were in favor and 80 percent of Prakash’s ads were handed over to only lead space and K City. 4 tenders were awarded to them in a year. Because of this, 200 outdoor media families from Telangana fell on the road. All of them approached the High Court. After three years of arguments, the High Court gave its final verdict on Wednesday canceling the G.O. This is yet another setback for the KCR government.
Complaints against Vishwajit
Advertising agencies were faulted for staying in non-cadre for more than three years against DoPT rules. Complaints have been received against Vishwajit to various investigating agencies that he planned to win tenders to his favored class and committed corruption of crores of rupees. There are allegations that justice is not being done in GHMC as the government has tied all the departments to itself. There were criticisms that many people were harassed by blocking Jive 68. The Crime Bureau has given a series of stories on the traffic scandals that took place from L&T boards to Ambarillas. Published 9 investigative articles on how much money was made by whom. Even now, the outdoor media wants the government to open its eyes and do justice to all.
All the media is in their hands..?
Print media, electronic media, and outdoor media have been tried to be controlled by the government. Small and medium print media did not give ads and many papers closed down. Social media is playing a major role as all major electronic media are in their hands. The opposition is criticizing the outdoor media industry for keeping it in the dark by preventing other parties from promoting it.
The old way? A new policy?
With the cancellation of the G.O. by the High Court, there are chances of displaying the hoardings in the old way. But the petitioners want new guidelines to be issued for all these and justice for all.
