State medical health officials have submitted a report to the high court on the situation prevailing across Telangana till the 12th of this month. The High Court is scheduled to hear the case today. Medchal district had the highest positivity rate of 6.95 percent. GHMC also has a positivity rate of 5.65 percent, officials said in their report.
During the last hearing, the government imposed restrictions on public rallies and meetings after the High Court ordered a ban on public gatherings. The court also suggested at the last hearing that the number of tests should be increased due to the spread of Omicron. The court also ordered an increase in facilities for Nilofar and other hospitals for children.
The High Court also directed that the rules be tightened in theaters and shopping malls. According to central government regulations, a night curfew will be imposed if the positivity rate exceeds 10 percent. With the Telangana cabinet meeting scheduled for today, experts say it remains to be seen what decision will be taken on the night curfew.
