In a rude shock to the Telangana state government which has been adamant over allowing the media into the premises of Old secretariat, State High Court on Friday expressed discontent on concerned officials. Questioning why the media is restrained from covering the demolition works, the High Court instructed the government to allow the media to cover the works at least in a designated time.
Over which, the governor’s counsel agreed to issue a daily bulletin just like the on coronavirus cases every day. The advocate general clarified that they are not allowing the media persons in the view of the occurrence of accidents at the site. “We also don’t want to go against the cover-19 norms increasing the risk o infection for the media people.
The hearing was further posted to be heard on Monday. It can be recollected that the Court took the reference of journalists going to the war zone despite the difficulty in covering the news.
