Concerns that Telangana will become another Sri Lanka are increasingly being heard from political analysts. There are no new debts. The financial situation is not so good. Welfare schemes need immediate funding. What to do? KCR is putting the entire blame on the center. “Why is KCR asking for more debts? Is it for his family?” Amit Shah criticized KCR during his recent visit. However, analysts say that the welfare schemes could not be continued if new debts do not arise for the state. In this context, it is said that KCR is deeply worried about the possibility of having to discontinue the schemes.
During a recent meeting with the finance officials, it was rumored that KCR started a discussion on “what would it be like to pay half the salary to employees?” He is wondering about the growing opposition against the government if all the welfare schemes are halted due to a lack of funds. Analysts say there has been a talk about employees making sacrifices in this context. However, it seems that KCR also has a plan to face the angry employees, and his plan is ‘blaming the entire lack of funds situation on the center’. It is believed that KCR wants to politicize the situation by preaching that the center is biased against the Telangana state and that is the reason behind not providing debts when needed.
There are reports that the implementation of the ‘Raithu Bandhu’ scheme is already being done in quite a harsh manner. There is talk that a lot of regulations are being implemented this time in order to reduce the burden to some extent. Analysts say there is also a possibility of setting up an assembly and announcing the next course of action, explaining that the financial situation of the state has been damaged by the center. KTR keeps saying that Telangana didn’t incur large debts, while the center is stating the exact opposite. However, the center is offering new debts to the shrinking economy like AP, while denying the same to Telangana state which is growing at a great pace.
Analysts say that KCR is desperately trying to spread the information about the center not offering debts to the state because of his fight against it. However, it is somehow clear that KCR is planning on tarnishing the reputation of the BJP party by having a stronghold on this point. In this context, KCR wants to promote the idea that ‘the cuts in the salaries of employees are because of the center’s biased nature with Telangana state. On the other hand, people are raising questions like- what resulted in causing soo much debt for Telangana state? Is it a lack of good governance? or is it because of corruption?
