Amidst the contemplations and debates among various student, parent and teacher circles in the state over re-opening the schools, report that Telangana government gave a nod for January 18th surfaced, of late.
The KCR-led state government which already permitted schools to conduct online classes taking students’ academic year in consideration has reportedly narrowed down to January 18 to commence physical classes.
As per the information, the education department is looking into starting sessions for Classes 9 and 10th standards and extended to Classes VI to VIII after taking feedback from parents and schools. Pragati Bhavan sources confirmed that the Chief Minister called for a high-level meeting with ministers and district collectors on January 11th to decide over the same.
It is learned that the Chief Minister has already directed his officials to study the COVID policies followed in other states in this regard. With the Sankranthi festival coming to an end on January 18, it is expected that the date was locked for the schools’ re-opening almost after a year.
