While the Telugu state is already suffocating with a roll of agitations, here comes another set back for Telangana. A recent study conducted by India Corruption Survey-2019 revealed that Telangana is the fifth most corruptive state in India. The survey conducted in association with Transparency International India revealed that 67 per cent of people in Telangana have admitted that they did bribe to get their pending work done in the government offices predominantly at property registration, police and municipality departments. It also stated that the corruption levels in the State have gone up this time when compared to 2018. Based on the observations made from the last 12 months, the surveyors stated that they have collected more than 1,90,000 samples across the country by directly meeting people directly. While Rajasthan, Bihar and Jharkhand took the top three spots, Andhra Pradesh stood at 13th position. On the whole, the survey stated that 51 per cent of Indians do pay bribes to get their work done.
