In a shocking picture which is now making rounds on social media and news portals, several dead bodies were seen lying on stretchers in a corridor which is revealed to be from King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. The picture was posted by BJP MLA Nitesh Rane lashing out on the authorities for the poor maintenance.

While the information whether the corridor is a used for a public purpose or is just a vacant place still remained unknown, comments sections flooded with outrage on KEM Hospital, one of the oldest and most well-known medical institutions in Mumbai. However, the media claimed that the dead bodies were left at the corridor as the mortuary was full in the wake of increasing corona deaths.
Things worsened with hundreds of paramedics and doctors snoring to a protest outside the hospital over PPE crunch. The medical staff also used that the supervisor has been making extremely derogatory and mean comments and has been threatening to sack them if at all they demand proper shifts and PPEs. It was learnt that the staff also raised concerns over leaving the dead bodies unattended in the hospital corridors.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with the total number of coronavirus cases crossing 52,000-mark with 31,000 in Mumbai alone.
