BJP State President Bandi Sanjay, who was going to find out the problems of IIIT students, was arrested. Bandi o left Hyderabad this morning to find out about the problems of IIIT students in Basara and was arrested by the police at Biknoor in Kamareddy district. This led to an altercation between the police and BJP activists.
The situation became alarming after an altercation between BJP ranks and police on the Biknoor National Highway. Protesting against the attitude of the police, they blocked the police vehicle. The activists and women were taken to the police station.
Meanwhile, Sadashivpeth Dharmaravupet MPTC Mahipal Yadav, who was injured in a police baton charge, was rushed to hospital. The BJP ranks are incensed that the police are cracking down on those who are fighting on behalf of the students.
“What is the police misbehavior if they go to find out the problems of the students? Chief Minister KCR is provoking the students’ by labeling their problems ‘silly’. How can they cut off the electricity and water connection just because the students are protesting? Are they terrorists? If KCR had already talked to the students, the situation wouldn’t have gotten to this point. Shouldn’t they look into providing minimum infrastructure to the poor students? We will fight till the problems of the students are solved,” said Bandi Sanjay.
