The political situation in Telangana state had become quite confusing and conflicting at the same time. From the allegations of Congress about TRS secretly working with BJP to chief minister KCR being quite blunt and outspoken against PM Modi himself. Political analysts are trying to absorb the mixed views projected to the people from both political party leaders. On the other hand, Modi’s comments on the formation of Telangana had sparked quite a controversy among the TRS and Congress party fraternities. Both share opposing views with the Prime Minister on the grass-root level.
Opposing the Prime Minister’s views, the TRS party initiated protests throughout the state. While these protests were carried out peacefully in some parts of the state, in the other parts, they ended up provoking the BJP members, resulting in a violent situation. Especially, the TRS ranks in Janagama took it out on BJP on an intensive level, ending up burning the effigies of the prime minister. The untimely arrival of BJP members at the spot had sparked a tense atmosphere on either side.
It all started with BJP members trying to prevent the burning of PM Modi’s effigy. TRS members aggravated at them started a physical attack, they chased the participants and went on hitting them with bamboo sticks leaving many of them wounded. Worried BJP workers ran away from the spot, blended in the crowds. Police arrived at the protest spot and took control of the situation by taking many people from both sides into custody.
However, BJP members alleged that the police forces targeted and arrested only their party members, going easy on the TRS leaders. Tensions were high in the population. The party leaders are demanding the release of the arrested BJP workers.
