The issue of Republic Day celebrations has become a hot topic in the wake of the growing distance between Raj Bhavan and Pragathi Bhavan. Governor Tamili Sai expressed his displeasure when the government sent a letter to hold the ceremony at Raj Bhavan this time too. He commented that this is not the method. The High Court has given an interim order for the state government to officially organize the Republic celebrations. Arguments continued for a long time on the petition filed by Srinivas. The BJP attack started with the High Court verdict. BJP president Bandi Sanjay responded by saying that these orders are like a slap in the face to the KCR government. He said that the government should respect the governorship system, otherwise KCR will remain a traitor to democracy.
Union Minister Kishan Reddy said that KCR has no respect for democracy. He said that they have reached the situation of canceling the Republic Day celebrations as well. He accused KCR of insulting Ambedkar and the Constitution. Addressing the KCR government, he commented that why is there President’s rule for a government that will be gone for three months. Condemning the behavior of the Telangana government, Kishan Reddy suggested observing some minimum manners and respect.
BRS leaders are expressing impatience with the behavior of the Governor. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav asked what is the relationship between the Governor and the BJP. He clarified that any celebration will be done according to the law. “Oppositions are talking as they like. Has anyone stopped the governor from coming into the limelight?” he asked.
On the other hand, MLC Kaushik Reddy made controversial remarks about the Governor. It was alleged that the Governor had kept the files passed in the Assembly with him. It is alleged that not even a single file is allowed to move. Etala Rajender demanded an answer on this. Etala said that they took Rs.100 crore from former MP Vivek and spent it in Huzurabad. Kaushik Reddy said that he will complain to IT and EC about what happened to that money.
