Thai Cave rescue: Navy SEAL diver dies in the operation

The rescue operation to save the Under-16 Thai Soccer team members and coach who got stuck inside a cave in Thailand turns a sad one. According to the latest update, Saman Kuniont, a former Thai military Navy SEAL diver who is part of the mission has died due to lack of oxygen.



Now, the death of the diver has some serious implications on the possibilities of saving the boys and coach of Thai Soccer team. The Thai Navy SEAL commander said that they have no other option except to attempt a tricky extraction from the Thang Luang cave before it is fully flooded with the rains.


Twelve boys who are aged between 11 and 16 and their soccer coach have been found alive by rescuers inside a Thai cave complex nine days after they went missing. Efforts are being made to bring them out of the cave safely and they are provided with sufficient food, water, and oxygen.
