Amidst a roll of controversies, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has finally lived her dream.
In a much-awaited moment, the makers of ‘Thalaivi’ have released the trailer of the picture which is all set to hit the marque on April 23rd.
In a surprise which came hours after the main lead Kangana bagged the National Award for Best Actress for ‘Panga’ (Hindi) and ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ (Hindi), the actress lived every inch of the late actress-turned-politician Jayalalithaa who once reigned the Tamil Nadu politics.
The three-minute-twenty-two seconds long trailer begins with a voice-over that says “Jaya” while the video read, “The name you know, the life story you don’t.” The trailer showed glimpses of different phases of life as an actress, party activist and the CM.
Powerful moments include Jayalalithaa taking on Indira Gandhi face-to-face in her maiden speech in the Parliament in 1984. It can be noted that Kangana has been teasing a ‘massive transformation’ over the months and had said in the past that she’d gained 20 kgs for the role.
Directed by AL Vijay, the film also stars Aravind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta and Bhagyashree, among others. The film is produced by Vibri Media in collaboration with Karma Media And Entertainment.
