State Power Minister Jagadish Reddy has alleged that the central government has brought in agricultural laws to harass farmers and inflict irreparable damage on farmers. He stated this while speaking as the chief guest at the Zilla Parishad Plenary Session held at the Zilla Parishad office in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. He demanded the central government buy all the paddy of Yasangi farmers.
For a long time, the purchase of grain has gone smoothly. But, in recent times, the Yasangi Center has been accused of causing trouble to the farmers. We are bringing to the notice of the people some of the things that the Central Government is adopting in the matter of farmers. He said that a few doubts needed to be addressed from the party’s side. Reminding of the way the government went to the farmers’ homes during the COVID times to buy grains, Jagadish assured that the ministers and the government is doing their best to support the people of Telangana, and push the center to buy grains.
Last year, the Center bought 1.45 crore metric tonnes of grain, as per this year, he criticized the central government for not having a proper policy on crop planning. He suggested that there must be healthy interaction between the state and center, urging the center to cooperate in order to deal with the farmers’ problems.
He said that despite the loss of Rs 300 per tonne the state government is purchasing grain, and it was paying for the welfare of the farmers. The minister said there was a need for the people to know the attitude of the Center. Minister Jagadish Reddy also demanded the purchase of Yasangi paddy at the gram panchayat and Mandal level through grain purchasing centers.
