Acclaimed Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan who involved in several international blockbusters such as Slumdog Millionaire, Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man and Life of Pi breathed his last in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday. Confirming the same, the hospital authorities stated that the actor succumbed to colon infection while under critical observation.
This news came as shock to his near, dear and family members as Irrfan lost his mother, Saeeda Begum, earlier this week, and the actor couldn’t even attend her funeral in Jaipur due to the nationwide lockdown. It is known that it has been quite rough few years after being diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour and had undergone treatment abroad for several months in 2019.
After recovering, he wrapped up Angrezi Medium but hasn’t signed any new films yet. While the actor is away from the promotions of ‘Angrezi Medium’ which postponed its release due to the lockdown, the film later had an online premiere, on Disney+Hotstar. Irrfan lives in Mumbai with his wife Sutapa Sikdar and two sons, Babil and Ayan, who are currently with him in the hospital.
