The High Court shocked BRS MLA Rohith Reddy who was creating a ruckus claiming that ED is harassing him in the name of investigation. The high court rejected his plea to put a stay in the ED case. It refused to give interim orders on this. When Rohit Reddy filed a petition in the High Court to dismiss the case, the court heard it. Advocate Niranjan Reddy presented arguments on behalf of the MLA.
Rohith Reddy’s lawyer argued that he was offered Rs 100 crores to change the party. He went on to claim that only an offer was made and no money was given to him. Arguments were heard that no cash transactions had taken place and ED had no scope of the investigation. It is also stated that ECIR is against Money Laundering Act.
Rohith Reddy told the court that ED is harassing him for personal details. The court asked the ED when he was called for an investigation on this occasion. The case was adjourned to January 5.
Based on the FIR of the police regarding the case of baiting of MLAs, the ED has registered an ECIR and is investigating. Rohit Reddy has already been interrogated for two days. When called to come again, he did not go. The writ petition was used as an excuse in the court and was silenced. ED officials have clarified that it should come on the 30th of this month. The ED also interrogated the accused Nandakumar for two days in connection with the same case. Mainly questions were raised around the topic of Rs 100 crores.
