IT ‘surveys’ have ended in BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai. The officials have announced that these attacks which were conducted for about 60 hours over three days have ended. After these long attacks, the BBC responded that the IT officers have left their offices in these two cities after completing the searches and they will continue to cooperate with them. It has been stated that they will stand by their staff and during these surveys, the officials questioned some of them for a long time, scanned their laptops, and seized the mobile phones of some.
She explained that some of them had to stay in the office at night, but all of them fully cooperated with the authorities. “Our operations are back to normal and we are committed to providing information to our readers in India and elsewhere,” the BBC said.
It reiterated that it is a reliable and independent media organization and stands by its journalists and colleagues who provide impartial information.
But the searches conducted by IT in the name of surveys, this moment many national newspapers got wrong in their editorials. The Indian Express commented that this is a step forward in retaliation. The Telegraph and Tribune also criticized it. They claimed that this is proof of how the Modi government is harassing those who are against it.
