Lord Shiva is the Supreme Yogi. Though he is respected and loved by people the most, he is the god who walks around the graveyards with ashes all over his body. He preaches the essence of the harshness of life that no matter how much one earns, one should cut ties and become ashes. Devotees have set up a 111 feet high gold idol of Lord Shiva, who is far away from the pomps. The golden resolution of years was completed by this Shivratri. In Vadodara, Gujarat, there is a huge Shiva murti in the center of Sursagar Lake.
This is the Shivasankalpa taken by the Satyam Shivam Sundaram Samiti Trust under the leadership of Manjalpur MLA Yogeshpatel. That resolve of years has been completed right on this Shivratri. The construction of this statue started in 1996 and was completed in 2002.
However, even if it was made of copper only, the invention did not happen. In 2012, Swarna Sankalp Foundation decided to gild the idol after years of dedicating it to the nation. Initially, it was not possible but with the help of devotees, it became a reality.
Gold coating for this huge statue is not a common thing. In total, 17.5 kg of gold, for which an expenditure of 12 crore rupees is required. However, as people and NRIs came forward to donate, the miracle went ahead. With this, the Golden Will was fulfilled on time.
Devotees are elated to see this great idol of Lord Shiva. Devotee netizens are saying wow as this golden image of Lord Shiva shining in the middle of the lake is doing the rounds on social media as well.
People are commenting, ‘Har Har Mahadev Sambhoshankara”. Some people are preparing a route map to visit Swarnamurthy on the occasion of Shivratri.
