Social and mainstream media has been playing a crucial role in politics as they can make or break the party or leader. Be it an event or public meet, netizens and the opposite party followers are dedicated ample amount of time to find faults with social media as a medium. While a few helped to serve justice to people, a few social media fights turned murkier.
Mulugu MLA Seethakka who is known for going all odds to help tribals especially during pandemic faced trolls and negative campaigns on social media recently. The reason behind is that Seethakka tied Rakhi to TPCC president Rewanth Reddy on the day of Raksha Bandhan, followed by which she met with TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu.
In the next few hours, social media flooded with posts alleging Chandrababu’s hand in Congress’s active participation in Huzurabad by-poll elections. Hitting back the campaign, Seethakka’s followers lashed out on the political vengeance. “Targeting a woman politician, that too a leader who came out of the Naxalite party shows how low the TRS leaders stooped,” averted a follower on social media.
It is to the known knowledge that Seethakka who started her political career with TDP later joined Congress along with Revanth Reddy after bifurcation. Even after she was elected as MLA, Seethakka maintained a good rapport with Chandrababu. Even when Seethakka’s mother health kept deteriorating, the TDP chief paid a visit despite the political difference.
On this note, many criticized the social media behavior of TRS followers who made made personal comments on a female politician.
