Chief Minister KCR once again clarified that there is no thought of imposing another lockdown in Telangana. State Health Minister Harish Rao and CM KCR held a high-level review meeting with top officials on Monday. On this occasion, officials informed relevant ministers that there were no conditions for imposing lockdown in the state at present, as per the Central Government regulations. CM added that every expert’s opinion was taken into consideration before deciding so.
However, with a huge increase in Omicron cases, KCR declared Sankranthi holidays for educational institutions in advance. He further opined on the re-opening of educational institutions saying that it would depend on the conditions post-Sankranthi (on the possibility of lockdown)
“While the unpredictable nature of new variant Omicron is already worrisome, we can notice a sudden surge in a number of cases. This is why we declared holidays in advance,” CM was quoted saying.
Meanwhile, medical experts concluded, “On Monday, 482 people in Telangana were tested positive”. In these dire times, CM KCR advised people to be vigilant during these times.
