In a bizarre theft that took place in Siddipet district of Gajwel, an unidentified gang bolted away with an ATM machine after multiple failed attempts to open it. The incident reportedly happened in the wee hours of Monday while the incident came to limelight after the private operator filed a complaint on Tuesday.
There was Rs 4,98,800 of cash in the machine which is comparatively small compared to the other ATM machines, said a police official. Assuring to crack the case in the next 2-3 day, Gajwel inspector T Satish stated that they are looking into the CCTV footages and forensic professionals have already collected the fingerprints from the premises.

It was observed that the ATM of the private operator was left unguarded from the past few days. The culprits cut the wires of the CCTV cameras in the ATM premises so that their involvement is not recorded. Police, however, have examined CCTV footage on the roads in the area.
