Hyderabad: M Kodandaram-led Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) has announced its support to Padmavathi Reddy, Congress candidate in the up-coming Huzurnagar by-polls. In an official statement, TJS has disclosed that TJS leaders, including its founder-president M Kodandaram, will soon start campaigning for Padmavathi. In a recent talk with media, Kodandaram cleared the air stating that TJS will not contest in Huzurnagar as they had limited resources. However, the senior leader said that they would support the leader who would oppose the dictatorial rule of KCR. “Our support to Congress is a part of intensifying our fight against K Chandrasekher Rao-led government who betrayed Telangana under the mask of development. TRS is clearly misusing the power,” said Kodandaram. He then urged CPM and Telangana Inti Party leaders to support Congress in the by-poll race.
Kodandaram stood as the main pillar in ‘Praja Kutami’, a grand alliance of Congress-TDP-CPI and TJS during 2018 Assembly elections. Though the party had a rift with Congress previously, fighting against his main rival KCR fell as the main priority for TJS which led to supporting Padmavati.
