Chithrapuri, a colony for poor artisans in Tollywood is reportedly turning into an adda for irregularities. It is a well-known fact that the state government has already allotted land in Khazaguda to give plots, single, double, triple bedroom and duplex houses to the people rendering services in 24 crafts.
While some have mortgaged land at a bank in Maharashtra, others have laundered hundreds of crores of rupees by committing irregularities through membership. Journalists and politicians who are not related to the film industry as well were seen exploiting the power.
In this context, the Rangareddy District Co-operative Officer of the Anita Committee, Chithrapuri which conducted an interrogation submitted a report over massive irregularities. The report stated that all the members in the old committee and five in the present committee were responsible for the corruption and reported to recover Rs 99 crore from 16 committee members.
The committee found that 9,153 memberships were given to 4,213 flats, among which 24 unions and associations were found to have given fake ID cards. 2,500 fake cards were found from the Junior Artist, Music Union, Writers Association, and Cine Artist Union. It was also found that the row houses and duplex houses were built without the clearances from the environment and HMDA.
According to the report, 16 committee members from 2010 to 2020 paid high advances to contractors which were taken back in cash. Komara Venkatesh, Vinod Bala, Krishna Mohan Reddy, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Tammareddy Bharadwaj, K. Rajeshwar Reddy, Murali Brahmanandaravu, Madhu Chandra, Udaya Bhaskar, J Ramayya (Late), Kolli Ramakrishna, Kiran Kadhambari, Anil Kumar Vallabaneni, A. Mahananda Reddy, Praveen Kumar Yadav and Raghu Battulu are the among the list of 16 members who misused the membership.
Anita Committee also stated that they have proof for all the stories in the media over the allegations in the Chitrapuri colony. It also stated that there is no proper membership register maintained for Kairos School, Shopping Complex, Audit Defects, Minutes Books. The committee also sought an investigation into the allegations contrary to the bye-law under Sections 50, 60.
