Followed by the blockbuster hit of Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’, many big-budget films have started hitting screens while release date announcements have been made till February. Amid the Omicron scare, several Tollywood celebrities met Telangana Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav in Hyderabad on Friday.
The list of biggies who attended includes, SS Rajamouli, Trivikram Srinivas, Dil Raju and DVV Danayya. Reports have it that the representation discussed a few pending issues including the ticket price, show timings which have become the main concern in Andhra Pradesh.
The industry biggies were learned to heaved a sigh of relief as the minister gave a clear assurance that there is no proposal to reduce the ticket prices or restrict the number of screenings in theatres in the state. The Telangana government granted permission to hike the ticket prices and screen five shows in a day
The Minister also urged people not to panic and to watch movies in theatres with all precautions in place. He also scotched the rumours over 50% occupancy. Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court has issued permission to theatre owners to temporarily hike ticket prices for the big releases.
