Even after the state government announced that all multiplexes and theatres will start premiering shows, the decision came as bittersweet news for the film industry and theatre owners with no new movies for the release.
The first two weeks are mostly like reruns of pre-lockdown movies which was considered as the buffer period to reinstate consumer confidence and assuring them about safety. OTT platforms, on the other hand, replaced the theatre culture which again takes time for the audience to bridge the gap.
Amidst which, the producers in the industry me up with a master plan to bring the gone glory to the theatres and multiplexes. Recently, some of the leading producers in the film industry met with the theatre owners while some key decisions were made at this meeting.
Under the name of Tollywood Bonanza, the industry heads came up with a creative plan under which certain B and C centres were selected for re-releases like ‘Magadheera’, ‘Temper’, ‘Baahubali’. Cinephiles interested can buy tickets on discount.
It was also learnt that the theatre owners and producers held talks with various fan associations of superstars during the screenings. Top stars were reputedly planning to make a video inviting fans and cinephiles to the theatres.
