Tensions ran high at Telangana Assembly premises on Wednesday with hundreds of Telangana Private Teachers’ Forum(TPTF) members attempting to barge into Assembly.
Raising slogans demanding justice, private teachers who claim to not receive salaries from the past six months reached to Assembly upon the ‘Chalo Assembly’ call.
Several TPTF members including the female teachers who tried to brage through assembly gates despite the police warnings were detained and shifted to the local police station.
TPTF sources confirmed that teachers from across the state reached Hyderabad to participate in the protest while the detained members demanded Chief Minister KCR to intervene in the issue which snubbed over three lakh private teachers’ jobs into oblivion.
TPTF also urged the state government to constitute a regulatory committee to scrutinise the irregularities of private schools.
