On one hand, the state government has unveiled the state formation celebrations on a grand scale. We have seen the TRS leaders making bold statements like, “we did this, we did that, and there is some more work we will do.” From the Chief Minister to the leaders from the lowest level, the whole TRS fraternity is going on boasting about the progress in Telangana state. But, this incident in Sirisilla would actually be a mirror to the reality of today’s Telangana.
The tragic incident took place in Minister KTR’s constituency’s Sirisilla District Hospital. A pregnant woman who came for delivery gave birth to a baby in the bathroom. The victim’s family says this was due to the unavailability of doctors.
Going into further details, Lokurti Nagraj and Madhavi are a couple from Veernapelli Mandal. Madhavi, who is pregnant, came to the district’s main hospital for delivery. Family members brought her in very carefully. But on arrival, it was learned that none of the doctors were available.
Madhavi was taken to the bathroom as she was in pain. She ended up giving birth to a girl there, and the baby lost her life as soon as she was born. Family members say the baby, born in the bathroom, died due to the unavailability of doctors. The family was heartbroken and claimed that it is the negligence of the hospital that cost them the baby’s life. They demanded that serious action must be taken against the responsible doctor. The people are angry with the government over the incident which comes on the eve of State Formation Day.
