Former Nizamabad MP and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Kavitha with a sweeping majority won the Nizamabad MLC election. The counting for the elections which took off on a delay note in the view of corona pandemic begun on Monday which displayed clear majority for TRS from round-1.
Kavitha fathomed the thumping victory with a majority of 728 out of 823 votes There were 10 invalid votes. In a victory which came as a blow to the oppositions Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that have lost deposits with 29 and 56 votes respectively. There were 10 invalid votes.
Post a humiliating defeat in parliamentary elections in the hands of Dharmapuri Arvind, son of senior leader DS, Kavita started restraining herself from the limelight. Despite speculations the party supremo is likely to send Kavita to Rajya Sabha, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) clearing Kavitha’s nomination in April sent discursive signals that Kavitha wants to play a crucial role in state politics itself.
This victory ended with boosting the morale of the TRS cadre while the oppositions, BJP and Congress started emerging out with strong fight in recent times.
