Crime Bureau, Tolivelugu: The opposition parties have been commenting that everything TRS has been doing in Telangana state is focusing primarily on their own benefits, rather than looking at doing the greater good for people. In other words, both Congress and BJP party has been criticizing TRS’ schemes, calling them scams that are implemented in the name of schemes. All the opposition parties were simply labeling TRS a party that just keeps boasting about itself at every opportunity, taking credit for the work that is done by someone else. Talking about the ongoing schemes, they call Mission Bhagiratha nothing short of a huge scam, that is given as an opportunity for the giant contractors to loot public money. Even the latest ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ scheme with Rs 8,000 crore has finally reached the accounts of Megha’s sister companies.
On the other hand, the TRS leaders keep comparing Hyderabad to Istanbul. calling it a developed cosmopolitan. They compare one city with Dallas, while another with some other place. Not just that, under the TRS regime, the administration of the state has become so degraded that they cut down trees in the green parks and turned them into playgrounds. The same thing happened in the Pulimamidi village of the Rangareddy Kandukur zone. Laid out in 2010 with full approvals from HMDA. Parks were built on 15 acres of vacant land on eight acres. All arrangements have been made for the children to play in the greenery. Officials say they have mortgaged the gram panchayat and will do anything on the land. Previously a water tank was built in a park. The owners of the plot did not object to the public interest. The 3,600-yard park in the name of the sports complex was destroyed. There is plenty of surrounding government land rather than in the layout. But since the surveyor was not there, they did not even bother to look the other way. A developed park, however, is less costly and more profitable. It is enough to just cut down the trees and root the board. 10 to 20 lakhs are being spent for each sports complex for this.
Attempts to attain funds from the center
The State Government is in dire straits for Central Government Funds. It is well known that central funds are being used for the ‘Mana Uru-Mana Badi’ scheme and tenders are being called to put them in the hands of state contractors. The funds for the Mission Bhagiratha were released by the Center, and the same was used for a number of projects such as rural development, construction of toilets, etc.
Now work is underway to fund the latest sports stadium. However, the TRS leaders and the government officials are working together on these projects with no rules or regulations. Plot owners went on a rampage over the removal of trees in the Park area in Pulimamidi, and here when an IAS officer called the MPO, he said that he has no clue about it. But in reality, it was the MPO who oversaw everything. Another official replied bluntly in public that he would use the park anyway. He went on to explain that to walk on a government-built road, they will use the Park area for walking or crossing. This was the kind of justification given by the officials of TRS.
Its raining money in the name of Greenery
The government is spending thousands of crores to plant trees in the name of ‘Haritha-Haaram’, rural development, urban forests, and beautification of highways. However, the construction of parks is not happening. Criticisms are coming that the authorities are occupying the green park in a way by removing it and constructing a sports complex. Leaders in the villages and municipalities started their strategic game for the playground. Contractors are reaping huge benefits by choosing a low-cost area. Through such schemes, by taking no commissions, the authorities are robbing thousands of crores of rupees which the contractors have been showing to have done the work at no expense.
