Grain procurement has slowly become a very big problem in the state. This one aspect is igniting the giant war between the center and the state. With the political interests of people of either side- TRS and BJP, clashing, the whole issue is getting intense with each passing day. The same is now reflected in the Parliament itself, there is a tense atmosphere in Parliament over grain purchases. TRS MPs chanted slogans at the beginning of the assembly. MPs who gave notices on grain procurement insisted on a debate in both houses. They all protested with placards.
TRS MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha walked out as the debate was not allowed in both houses. TRS MP Suresh Reddy demanded in the Rajya Sabha that Odisha and some other states were struggling with central government policies just the way Telangana is going through.
Suresh Reddy said there was a need to discuss this issue. The Center was asked to give a clear answer on the purchase of grain. Otherwise, they warned that they were ready to launch another movement for the farmers.
However, these demands continue to flow in both houses for days a week. Despite the adjournment resolution being given every day, an open discussion is not allowed. It is against this backdrop that the TRS has decided to stage a massive protest in Delhi on the 11th of this month.
