With major disappointment in by-polls and GHMC elections, seems like the ruling TRS party is taking cautious steps for the upcoming polls to the Telangana Legislative Council.
In a recent announcement, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Sunday announced Surabhi Vani Devi, daughter of former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao as their candidate from the Graduates’ constituency.
Sources confirmed that Vani Devi who is an established artist and academic will file her nomination papers on Monday for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy- Hyderabad Graduates’ constituency. Pragati Bhavan corridors are rife with reports that the party chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen on taking the scion of the former PM.
Thanking CM KCR for finalising her name, Vani Devi said she would follow in the footsteps of her father. It can be noted that her brother, PV Rajeshwar Rao, had served as an MP from Secunderabad for Congress, while NV Subhash, grandson of PV Narasimha Rao is a BJP leader.
To recall, KCR launched the celebrations at the PV Gnana Bhoomi at Necklace Road in Hyderabad. Celebrations have been organised at 50 locations worldwide since then. He also sanctioned `10 crore for the year-long celebrations.
