While the backlash over public over spending a fortune for Trump’s visit, here comes another news which might further trigger criticism.
According to the reports from Ahmedabad, the municipal corporation of the city has allotted a whopping Rs 3.7 crores to beautify Ahmedabad streets with flowers all around. As announced, the President and Narendra Modi would take a 10km roadshow from Ahmedabad Airport to Sabarmati Ashram after which the leader would inaugurate the newly built Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium in Modera. Upon which the road of the stretch from Chimmanbhai Patel Bridge to Zundal Circle and up to Motera will be covered with various varieties of flowers to welcome the President.
However, the papers submitted by the standing committees quoted different purpose for the sanction. The officials said that the proposal is for developing green spaces under the metro route. the Ahmedabad municipal corporation (AMC) also sanctioned funds for colourful lightings all along the route, reportedly. Sources also stated that various programs showcasing the rich culture and traditions of India will also be showcased along the route to the venue.
