In 2013 and 2015, 50 journalists in Bhupalapalli town were given 100 yards each at the initiative of the then officials and public representatives. The revenue authorities have allotted lands in survey number 141 in the suburbs of Kompelli Revenue Department, Pulluru Ramayya Palli in Bhupalapalli mandal, and provided the land titles.
Since then till now, there is no minimum wage even though the leaders have been asked several times to apply a scheme of 5 lakhs to build double bedrooms for the families of 50 journalists, but there is no movement among them.
Currently, the demand for 100 yards of land given to journalists has increased as the Collectorate building and 200-bed hospital are being constructed adjacent to the plots of journalists. With this, the officials have slipped the names of the Bhupalapally collector and tehsildar that the government wants to cancel the plots of 50 people in survey number 141 overnight so that the public representatives and journalists can take care of our lands.
