Planning to watch a movie in the theatre? Want to book the tickets online? You need State government’s support for this! The people from Telangana will soon come through this situation for booking tickets online. In a shocking revelation, Telangana’s Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas has tipped off that Telangana state government is planning to ban the sale of movie tickets through online portals. The government will soon be coming up their own ticket portal for selling movie tickets. The minister alleged that the so-called online portals selling movie tickets are looting the public under the mask of taxes. He stated that the State government is considering this move to curb this and to benefit the producers and distributors.
However, this unexpected statement has stirred up flak from people in film circles who lashed out on the government for turning a blind eye on major other problems the film industry is facing. Few of the film analysts have already smelled that it as a bait to loot the ever-growing industry. While few opined that this will only benefit outsourcing companies who take the contracts which will be given to the close allies of KCR. If everything goes as per the discussed scenario, let us see if the government created a ticket booking site could meet the speed and services offered by the leading portals like Bookmyshow, Paytm, Easymovies.
