Days after Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam(TTD) stood as the centre of debates over the declaration form issue, the state government on Wednesday night relieved Anil Kumar Singhal from the post of Executive Officer of the governing trust.
In a GO issued by Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney on Wednesday, Singhal who served the trust for three years was transferred to as medical and health principal secretary. Though sources at CMO have it that Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, who is the special chief secretary (health) stood on the front run for the next TTD EO, TTD present additional EO AV Dharma Reddy was made the new EO.
However, the decision welcomed criticism as the post is touted to be be given to only senior-most IAS officers while Dharma Reddy an Indian defence estate services officer who was brought to AP on deputation. Anil Kumar Singhal, a 1993-batch IAS officer.
It can be noted that Singhal’s tenure was marked by the most discussed controversies such as the alleged missing jewels of Lord Venkateswara, hereditary rights of archakas, removal of chief priest AV Ramana Deekshitulu and the more recent proposed auction of temple lands.
