Not stopping with the legal wrangles that the state already have, seems like Andhra Pradesh is likely to welcome one more. In a recent revelation, Jagan government on Saturday decided to auction TTD assets which now turned into a political storm in the state.
Followed by the meeting called by the board members, the decision was said to taken to put almost 23 TTD properties on auction. In the line of which, the state government would take over the properties in Tamil Nadu situated in Vellore, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram. It was learnt that the governing body TTD has already constituted eight committees to look over the formalities.
Reportedly, the decision was taken to cover up the financial crisis due to lockdown and pay off salaries for about 22,000 employees working for the holy shrine. This has, however, ended up the government in troubles while the oppositions JanaSena and Congress openly announced a legal war against the state government and TTD.
Lashing out on TTD’s decision, JanaSena leaders accused that the government is with a motive to hand over the lord’s properties to YSRCP leaders under the mask of auctions. Talking over the same, AP Mahila Congress leader Padmavathi said the TTD’s move is an insult to the devotees who donated the lands to Lord Venkateswara. She also stated that their party will move the court challenging the government’s move.
