A disastrous road accident took place in the Suryapeta district. Two people were killed on the spot when the car overturned in an accident. Four others were seriously injured. The tragic incident took place in the Tungaturthi zone of the district. Jatoth Nimma, 80, of Megha Thanda, a Kashitanda residential village in Mandla district, died a week ago.
However, in order to immerse her ashes in Vadapalli, Nimma’s daughter Mangamma (55) of the Ravulapalli Thanda, along with Sarada of Ramannagudem Thanda, and four others left for Megha Thanda in an auto on Friday night. In the middle of the road, an auto accident occurred near Kashi Thanda. Mangamma and her daughter Sharada died on the spot in the accident.
Along with Banothu Neela, Googulothu Balamma, and Googulothu Surya, who had the same cars, auto driver Guguloth Ravinder was seriously injured. Locals said the two young children in the car were not injured. Locals reported the incident to the police at the earliest.
Police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Suryapeta Government Hospital in a 108 vehicle. Doctors said the condition of one of them was critical. However, the police suspect that the accident may have taken place when the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. SI Anjaneyulu said the case has been registered and an inquiry is underway.
