With violent protests with supporters loyal to President Donald Trump intensifying into rioting and violence, Governor Ralph Northam has issued a State of Emergency in Virginia to allow the state to respond to requests for assistance from Washington, DC.

Issuing Order 2021-003, the Mayor extended the public emergency declared earlier today for a total of 15 days, until and unless provided for by further Mayoral Order.
Taking to her Twitter account to announce, “I have issued Mayor’s Order 2021-003, extending the public emergency declared earlier today for a total of 15 days, until and unless provided for by further Mayoral Order.”

Meanwhile, the police have arrested 30 people so far for violating the curfew that was imposed following the rioting by Trump supporters. The governor has also declared a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Alexandria and Arlington.
