With charges of abusing power and obstructing Congress, a 10-hour debate leading up to the vote ended in the impeachment of US President Donald Trump on Wednesday. The vote which won the support of almost all Democrats in the House, Donald Trump became the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. In the line of this, the Senate will decide whether the president should be convicted on the charges and removed from office in a trial going to be held anytime soon. The House on Wednesday approved two articles of impeachment while the Congress voted 230-197 to approve the first article and 229-198 for the second. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the result as Donald Trump was speaking at a campaign rally in Michigan. His has received a divide response with the world leaders taking to their social media to express their views.

On the other hand, thousands of Trump supporters from across the country gathered to make their views plain under the banner: “Nobody is above the law”. Trump who is amidst thousands of his most diehard supporters in Michigan. “The Democrats are declaring their deep hatred and disdain for the American voter. They’ve been trying to impeach me from day one,” he said speaking at the rally. Trump took to his official Twitter account with a series of tweets condemning the impeachment.
