The former vice president so far won in Democratic-leaning states of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Vermont and Virginia, said ground reports.
While President Trump was posting expected victories in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wyoming, Indiana and South Carolina.
Going by the exit polls conducted by the leading new channels, Biden appears to have gained support among under 30s and the middle-aged while US President Donald Trump, earlier today expressed confidence that his party will return to power after the fiercely-contested polls.
Be it Biden or Trump, how would the win effect India is what expect are now narrowing down onto.
Taking the affinity between the President Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last one year, the political analysts claim that things would be smooth for India if Republican candidate wins the poll.
Going by the past remarks made by Biden on Kashmir issue, CAA, Delhi riots, actions against journalists and NGOS and alleged human rights violations things would be on a rough note if Democratic Party come to rule.
However, Biden backed by Kamala Harris, the Indo-American politician added the NRI vote bank. “It is speculated that regardless of who clinches the crown of US President, elections will have a positive impact on Indian stock markets,” said Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director at Alankit Ltd.
Biden win would likely benefit Indian investors by providing potentially more favorable US trade policies and attract many newbies and experienced investors as his policies and proposals are favourable to Indian market.
