Hyderabad: With the TPCC core committee and executive committee meetings scheduled on Tuesday, the party’s senior leader has reportedly submitted his resignation to the high command. This was however speculated by the political analysts after a thumping defeat in the hands of TRS in his own constituency. Uttam, who earned failure marks as president of the TPCC, has forwarded the resignation letter stating that he could not continue after the defeat of his own hometown Huzurnagar.
Reportedly, many of the T-Congress leaders have confronted the fact that vindictive politics in the party has increased like never before after Uttam assumed the office as PCC president. But somehow, the high command didn’t take this on a serious note rather supported Uttam during the Mallanna Sagar agitation and land acquisition. Besides the criticism he faced regarding the redesigning of the projects and the Bhagiratha project, the high command spared Uttam a couple of times. However, the senior leader couldn’t avoid the rejection from the leaders from his own district. The leaders also admitted that Uttam failed of doing his part as a TPCC chief during the 2019 elections.
The situation turned worse with MP elections. BJP which previously has only one seat came out victorious in four constituencies, while Congress won only three. Being a senior leader in one of the age-old parties, Uttam didn’t even consider the fact that Rahul Gandhi resigned taking moral liability to the defeat of Congress throughout the country. Eventually, with the defeat of Congress in Huzurnagar by-polls, Uttam was forced to resign. With the municipal election falling by, the party high command has reportedly asked the senior leader to continue till the elections.
