Pandemic has no doubt changed the face of Indian cinema while all production houses small to big are ramping up are looking up to OTT platforms for the releases on halt. While Bollywood started the saga with Sreedevi daughter Jhanavi’s ‘Gunjan Saxena’, Tollywood as well seems to hit the same track very soon.
As ‘Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya’ which is claimed to be one of the films from big production houses is already doing great at OTT platform Netflix, another big-budgeted film is rumoured to join the club. According to the latest reports, producer Dil Raju has decided to go for a digital release and the film will now premiere on Amazon Prime on September 5.
However, it was learnt that Dil Raju has had quite a tough time convincing lead actor Nani who is apparently against the digital release idea. Though Dil Raju as well waited for the film to hit silver screens as ‘V’ is termed as the commercial comeback of Nani, Central government rejecting permissions for theatres came as a jolt.
It was learnt that the team had a long and secluded session to come in terms with the digital release decision and sources revealed that Nani was the last to agree to it. However, it was learnt that Dil Raju made a handsome deal with Amazon Prime which is now competing with Netflix.
