With the Modi-led central government officially announcing the vaccine administration in states to start from mid-January, the respective government’s were all busy strategising the distribution programs. Coming to Telangana, one of the worst corona-hit states in the country, Pragati Bhavan sources confirmed that the vaccines will be administered from January 16.
Followed by the high-level vaccination review meeting held Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao with concerned officials on Monday, it was learnt that the Telangana government has planned to set up 1,213 centres and 866 cold chain points for Covid vaccine administration in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, CM KCR assured that the Volunteers are ready at all the stages and a committee under the Chief Secretary will monitor the vaccination program 24*7. Around 2.7 lakh health workers, including doctors, nurses, ward boys and technicians will be inoculated as the part of the phase-1 vaccination program.
Most of the vaccination sites will be in the government health facilities like primary health centres (PHC) to teaching hospitals.
