Amaravati: Amidst the speculations that he would soon join either BJP or the ruling YSRCP, Vallabaneni Vamsi, TDP’s Gannavaram MLA made his resignation official on Sunday. Claiming that the step taken is to safeguard his constituency people from vindictive politics, he cited the ‘harassment by YSRCP leaders and certain government officials as the reason behind his resignation. This resignation, however, was an expected one after a series of events like Vamsi meeting CM Jagan & Sujana Chowdary two days ago and a case booked against him.
“I have served the party at my possible level unconditionally without any regrets and second agenda. I have successfully completed all my assignments even without batting on the eyelid to my utmost truthful conscience and belief,” wrote Vamsi, in his letter to Chandrababu Naidu. He also stated that he, his associates and followers are in neck-deep troubles due to the vindictive attitude of local YSRCP in charge and partisan attitude of some government employees.
A few days ago, a case was filed against Vamsi by the Hanuman junction police for distributing house sites with the forged signature of the tahsildar on land registration documents. Venkata Rao Yarlagadda, YSRCP MLA candidate from Gannavaram has registered a complaint.
