In Telangana, the war of words continued between Minister Harish Rao and BJP MLA Etela Rajender over the assembly facilities. MLA Etela Rajender said that BJP members are not being accommodated in the assembly premises. BJP members are not even allowed to have tiffin, and there is no place to eat the tiffin brought from home.
He criticized the state government for incurring a debt of Rs.5 crore. Debt should not exceed 25 percent of GSDP. He said that the budgeted funds for BCs are not being released. He said that the Center has spent Rs 95,000 crores in the state for support prices. Etela Rajender demanded that the bills of the mid-day meal workers be paid every month.
Minister Harish Rao said that the opposition leaders are talking as if nothing should be done for the weaker sections. He said that in the past, during budget meetings, the leaders used to protest with empty bottles. He said that protests against power cuts were often held in Nisan but nothing like that is seen now.
He said that in the past, MLAs used to be afraid to visit constituencies. The people of the Nalgonda district used to suffer from bent bones due to fluoridated water. Who removed the fluoride stones from people’s hearts? Harish Rao said that a model has been set before the nation in the form of the Mission Bhagiratha scheme.
