The landmark judgement which came after decades of anticipation has shaken the nation on Saturday. While the disputed land was given for the construction of Ram mandir, 5 acres of land was allotted to Sunni Waqf Board. While the whole nation is blazing hot with the buzz around the verdict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official social media handles to address the nation. Calling for peace amidst the high tensions at Uttar Pradesh, Modi urged the citizen to respect the Apex court and to maintain peace and harmony. “Ayodhya verdict will not be anybody’s victory or loss”, he said adding that it was the priority of the country’s citizens to maintain harmony. He then reaffirmed that every side, every point of view was given adequate time and opportunity to express differing points of view
He then expressed his confidence over the 130 crore citizen who remained committed in peaceful coexistence from centuries. ‘May this very spirit of unity and togetherness power the development trajectory of our nation. May every Indian be empowered,” he added.
SC’s Ayodhya Judgment is notable because:
It highlights that any dispute can be amicably solved in the spirit of due process of law.
It reaffirms the independence, transparency and farsightedness of our judiciary.
It clearly illustrates everybody is equal before the law.
