Hyderabad: Senior actress Geetanjali breathed her last at Apollo hospital in Hyderabad. The senior actress passed away after a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Thursday while undergoing treatment. Born in Kakinada, Geetanjali was introduced to the silver screen with ‘Seetharama Kalyanam’ (1961) with her name changed from Mani. She later rose to fame with the films like ‘Kalavaari Kodalu’, ‘Dr Chakravarthi’, ‘Bobbili Yudham’, ‘Devata’, ’Sri Sri Maryadarammanna’, ‘Gudachari 116’ and many other super hits. Geetanjali left her mark as a heroine, comedian and character artist in over 300 films in South Indian cinema for over five decades. Besides being an actress, she also served the Association of Movie Artists for a long time. She has also acted in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films.
