Announcing her new project which again drew nation’s attention on social media, actress Kangana Ranaut on Saturday confirmed that she will play former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming film.
The actor also shared a throwback picture from one of her old photoshoots, for which she had dressed up as the former PM.
Kangana will essay the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political drama.

Further, the actress confirmed that the film is not a biopic of Indira Gandhi, but rather a period film and a political drama that will help the current generation to understand the socio-political landscape of current India.
Sources added that the venture will be co-produced by Kangana which will be based on a book which revolves around the Emergency and Operation Blue Star. The film will be helmed by Sai Kabir. Earlier this month, she also announced the second instalment of the Manikarnika franchise titled Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda.
