With immense support pouring in from all ends, the agitations against the Modi-led central government’s decision to privatise Vizag steel plant has been intensifying with each passing day. Leaders & followers of all parties including the ruling YRSCP and trade unions took out a massive rally to the steel plant back gate on Monday.
Scores of members and followers of trade unions like INTUC and AITUC participated in the rally while Minister Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao, MPs MVV Satyanarayana, B Satyavathi, MLAs Gudivada Amarnath, Tippala Nagireddy, and many others expressed support for the workers’ agitation. Taking at the rally, all the leaders demanded the Modi government to take back the decision of privatising.
While the central government is still tight-lipped over the on-going issue, the BJP leaders of the state unit are busy in the damage control process. BJP senior leader Daggubati Purandeswari has asserted that the would take the concerns to the high command.
